GES 2014: Latin America winners announced!

Remember our Global EdTech Startups Awards competition? Well, the third event in our quest to finalize the top 30 companies going up to the last round continues, and last week our friends at INNcubatED had their finals event.

INNcubatED is a Bogota-based EdTech incubator, and is in charge of screening the Latin American start-up companies participating in the GES 2014 competition. The event took place last Friday (August 1st)at HeroesFest de Innpulsa, Colombia, at Medellín.

 10 companies presented, but only 4 moved on to the next challenge, and here they are (by alphabetical  order):

 1-     Educatablet (Venezuela) 

 EducaTablet distributes academic digital content to thousands of students in different countries in Latin America.

 2-     Mejorando.la (Colombia)

 Mejorando offers courses created with professionals in the industry, in Spanish, so you can get the best jobs or found your own startup. Courses can be delivered live or recorded, and students get Diploma Certification.

 3-     PuntajeNacional (Chile) 

 Many young people do not have access to good educational material, or are involved in an educational system that does not fit their individual needs. PuntajeNacional  tries to improve this situation through innovation in teaching methods and technology.

4-     School Control (México) 

 SchoolControl offers a communication platform based in the cloud that connects schools with parents and students in an extremely simple, safe, friendly manner and in less than 30 seconds, to have the entire community informed.

 The screening procces was conducted by INNcubatED in the last 3 months, and involved 100 companies in the Latin America region (out of more than 350 companies in total).
